Party planning, decorations, and tablescape by me.
Oh my gosh. I cannot believe it’s almost Christmas! I feel like it has come so fast this year. But hey! I’m not complaining about it. Especially since this year Aaron surprised me with tickets to Europe for TWO WEEKS. We leave tomorrow and it’s still kinda surreal to me that it’s actually happening. I’ve never even been out of the country so this is huge for me. We are starting in London, taking a train to Paris, and then road tripping our way through 5 different countries! Hey world travelers, if you have any advice, pass it along. I can’t wait to meet some of Aaron’s family in England that I’ve never met and visit the place he grew up.
Before we take off, my friends and I decided we wanted to throw a Christmas party with all of us together for the first time in YEARS. Literally years. Before I got married. SO it was kind of a miracle that all of us could actually get together. We ate, caught up, laughed, and exchanged gifts. We got these cute Christmas crackers and cracked those open after dinner and confetti was everywhere. It’s a English tradition that Aaron’s family does and I loved it when we spent Christmas with them last year so I decided I would like to make that a tradition for us too! I never really planned parties like this before but after throwing my sisters surprise party, (remember this?), helping plan one of my best friends weddings, and planning my own wedding I kinda of really love it. Maybe I should look into it? 😉
You know the line in Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas, “Faithful friends who are dear to us will be near to us once more.”? That’s basically the best way to sum up our night. I’ve been friends with these girls for as long as I remember. Some of them I have been friends with since I was about 4. My favorite thing about getting together with everyone is that no matter how long it’s been since we’ve seen each other, or how frequently we speak, as soon as we are all reunited, it’s like nothing ever changed.
I wish you a very Merry Christmas, spent with faithful friends who are dear to you, family that loves you, and I hope you give to those who need it. Happy Holidays!
