Next up on our Europe road trip, ITALY. One of my personal favorites. Even during the winter time, this place was amazing.

DAY ONE:Β We started our Italy adventure in Milan. As I had mentioned in my previous Europe post, we found all the hotels we stayed at by using We stayed in a stunning hotel in Milan that we got a great deal on using We ordered pizza and San Pellegrino the night we got there and had it delivered to our room. We ate it while listening to Andrea Bocelli and watching soccer. haha! We woke up early the next morning and headed out to see the Duomo di Milano and Galleria Vittorio Emanuelle II. The Duomo was absolutely incredible and there were so many designer stores in the Galleria Vittorio Emanuelle II that my brain was going to explode. It was freezing the day we were in Milan and raining/snowing so we only spent a few hours there in the morning and then headed out to Venice.

DAY TWO: From Milan, we drove to Venice, my favorite. It was a super short drive so we parked our car on the main land and then took a boat out to our hotel. This place was the cutest place I had ever seen. I couldn’t stop smiling the entire boat ride in. Every building you pass is a different pastel color with flourishing greenery and flowers spilling from the window sills. The craziest part about this city was that it literally just floats in the middle of water. No cars, just boats and walking to get around. After we dropped off our bags at our hotel we took off to explore the town. It was raining but so charming. We grabbed dinner at a cute small Italian restaurant recommended by the concierge at our hotel (ask for suggestions from locals, some of the restaurants can be super touristy and pricey so go for something more local and authentic), then we walked to Piazza San Marco and Saint Mark’s Basilica.

DAY THREE: The Basilica was so beautiful, we ended up going back again in the day just to see all the detail at daytime. The best thing to do in this city is to just get lost. Every street we turned down was a new cute canal with darling buildings. ALSO, a must do is bag shopping. I got a beautiful real leather bag in one of the cute street boutiques for an incredible price. Plus when people ask where it’s from I can tell them I got it from Italy. πŸ˜‰ Gondola rides are so fun and a staple to the city, just know they are crazy pricey but totally worth it for the whole Venice experience. After spending a whole 24 hours in Venice, we picked up our car and drove to Verona for a few hours. Here we visited a massive colosseum, roamed the streets, ate, then took off to Lake Como. This was one place I wish we had more time in. I hear Verona has beautiful gardens, plus hello, Romeo and Juliet took place in Verona. If we could go back I would love to see Juliet’s balcony and the letters to Juliet!

From Verona we drove to Lake Como, which was one of our favorite parts of the whole drive through Europe. It is absolutely breath taking, and just like the rest of Italy, so charming. We stayed in a cozy bed and breakfast right across the lake from many celebs,(hellloooo George Clooney!), Β owned by an elderly Italian couple who were so friendly. They woke up early the next morning and had breakfast made for us and even gave us a house key to come and go as we pleased. When the sun came up the next morning we watched the sunrise from our balcony and were in awe of how beautiful it was. We drove around the small towns surrounding the lake and even made a stop at some of the homes that were in James Bond: Casino Royal. Then we stopped by a small dock to feed the ducks and swans by the lake. After we spent the morning in Como, we took off to Switzerland! The next blog post to come!

Happy Monday! Have a great week.

Thanks so much for your kind words! We use Canon 6d which is awesome because it has WiFi as a feature which means remote shooting! It’s really great because you can see what the photo will look like from your camera on your phone and you can shoot remotely from there! So usually we will just set up the photo and do it that way!
