For the past year or so, I have struggled with my skin. Not just with acne, or scarring, or whatever else it might be, but also with feeling comfortable in my skin. Before I got married, I never had an issue with my complexion. I hardly broke out, I had an even skin tone, no scarring, bright eyes with no bags and smooth skin. Then when I began to take a medication I had been prescribed, my body freaked out and reacted to it in every bad way possible. I started having break outs that were deep beneath my skins surface and itched like a rash. I was so embarrassed, seeing as I never had bad skin and didn’t feel confident or comfortable in my skin. I CAKED on the make up, scrubbed my face so hard that it was bright red for hours, and picked at every blemish on my face in hopes that maybe I could cover it up or make it go away. Unfortunately, my plan backfired and it began to get worse. I went to a doctor to see how I could fix it and he told me it was most likely stress that was causing it and gave me a lotion that would help. MORE UNFORTUNATE NEWS, that didn’t work either. It took me a while to even realize that this break out from hell was an allergic reaction to my medicine and every failed attempt I had made to cover it up or make it go away made it worse by picking at my face and then covering it up with so much make up. At this point, I felt pretty  hopeless and thought it would literally never go away. I wouldn’t leave the house without make up on and I would edit every picture of myself. I was even embarrassed to be bare faced around Aaron, MY OWN HUSBAND who has promised to love me no matter what for the rest of eternity, yet I was so self conscious that I would wait until he fell asleep to take off my make up.

Then I discovered Osea Skin Care and the heavens opened up and I saw the light at the end of the tunnel (cue the angels singing). Osea is based out of Malibu and all of their products are made with natural ingredients. This was HUGE for me because my skin is so sensitive I couldn’t use any acne treating products. PLUS it’s kinda scary when you check the ingredients on the back of the bottle and don’t even know how to pronounce 90% of what your lathering all over your face. The products from Osea are made from natural ingredients found in the sea, meant to heal your face in the most natural, healthy way. Not even exaggerating, using their products makes me feel like I’m at the spa but in my own home. It’s amazing. They sent me the Acne Relief Essentials Kit, which includes their Ocean Cleansing Mudd, the Red Algae Mask, Blemish Balm, and the Corrective Complex oils.

My daily/nightly routine consisted of this:

I would remove my make up with make up removing wipes. Then I would wet my face and apply a little bit of the Ocean Cleansing Mudd and massage it into my face for 30-60 seconds. I felt this product work right away and get deep into my pores. Then I would rinse it off and apply their Vitamin Sea Serum. This helped even my skin tone, get rid of my acne scars, and brighten my skin. After doing this, I would roll the Corrective Complex oils on my problem areas where I had broken out or tend to break out. Again, this product instantly worked and I could feel it attacking those areas. After, I applied a dime size amount of the Blemish Balm. This was a miracle worker. It felt like it sealed it all in and helped cool and relax my skin. After applying this, I noticed the redness in my skin to go away and my skin looked so much more glowy and radiant. Then, once a week, I would apply the Red Algae Mask (or if I had just picked a spot, I would put a little dot of this on it and leave it overnight to dry it out). This was like an in home facial. It cleared my pores, made them smaller, and reduced my amount of break outs.

I have never felt a product work as fast as this one did. Literally the morning after I started using Osea, I noticed a change in my skin. After a week, the rash I thought I would never get rid of had cleared up dramatically. After another few weeks, it was completely gone and my skin was back to being clear and radiant. Because of these products, I feel comfortable in my skin. I actually feel better about myself when I wear less make up now, which I thought would never be possible. These products make you feel like you are really taking care of your skin rather than attacking it to get rid of acne. I waited to do this post until I had used up every last drop of their product to make sure I gave you the most honest response and review about how it helped me and in 100% honesty, I can tell you, this is what changed my skin and my confidence.

If you have had a problem with your skin or have any questions about my process or these products, please let me know! I love talking about skincare because it was such a problem for me and these products totally cured it.

I don’t say this enough, but thank you for following me. Thank you for caring about my life. Thank you for the feedback, both good and bad. It’s honest! I know I am not always very good at responding, but I DO see and read all your comments and appreciate every single one of them and every single one of you. Hope you enjoy the rest of your week!

This product sounds really great! Could you say a bit more about your skin type? Does the routine seem like a lot of trouble? Im pretty lazy about skincare, (I know, its bad!) and most days I cant even say I wash my face everyday. How high maintenance does this routine feel?

I have combination skin. Sometimes it gets super oily and other days I feel like my face will fall of because it is so dry. I really like to take care of my skin and wash it twice a day. I try not to wear make up every day if I don’t have to, so I’m pretty high maintenance when it comes to my skin. But it’s worth it for the results I got!

I have struggled so much lately with my skin and I have tried everything in the book for my acne. I recently went to a dermatologist to get a prescription for it. I HATE how dry my face gets from the intense and strong prescription. Is this product great at moisturizing? One of the problems I have seen with my skin since having a topical prescription is it drys out so much at the end of the day. Sometimes I don’t have the time to put moisturizer on again, so I am looking for something that can moisturize my face through out the day. Thank you for being so honest with this! I honestly felt like I was the only person in the world struggling with acne and didn’t know to turn to because I don’t feel like people are honest about this stuff. Thanks a million! xox

Shona,so happy to hear I’m not the only one! I had the problem with super strong acne treatments in the past and hate feeling like your face is so dry that it’s just going to break into pieces. That’s something that I really loved about these Osea products. They’re super gentle on your skin but still totally clear up acne. Their products are perfect for moisturizing without overcompensating by making your skin oily. I highly recommend this to anyone battling acne and dry skin. Hope that helps! xoxo

Hi Makenna! I have always envied how flawless and beautiful your skin is. I have suffered with acne for years now and have tried every product out there. My skin is like yours, where acne products and harsh chemicals only make things 100x worse. I really want to give Osea a try, but I have a few questions. Do you use the ocean cleansing mudd every day? (morning & night) It just concerns me that it says it is a deep cleansing exfoliate because that sounds like it would be too harsh for everyday use? And if you don’t use it everyday, what do you use in between? Also, do you feel like it removes any excess makeup you have on your face? I don’t usually use makeup removing wipes first because my cleanser usually takes it all off, so this would be a new thing for me. I appreciate you being so open and honest about your skin! xo

I recently have gotten on some medication and the side effect is acne, so I don’t think I’m having a reaction to it as you did. I was wondering if these products started helping your skin while you were still on the medication? This company sounds amazing, I’m just not sure if it is a side effect if they would still be able to help my skin.
    Thank you, Ellie B!

Hi Ellie! I started using those products right when I stopped taking the medication and it helped clear it up dramatically within a week. I wasn’t on my medication when I started using the products but it would be worth trying it out and seeing if it helps clear up! If it’s birth control that you’re using and is making you break out, I’ve had to switch medications around before I found something that works for me and that I don’t react to. I hope that helps! If you have any other questions, please let me know!
